Shapewear: The Stealthy Secret Weapon for Fashion-Focused Fabulousness!

Let's talk about shapewear. There is an abundance of it about in all shapes, sizes, styles, and colours to suit all occasions and fashions, but which ones are worth the money?

Why do we wear shapewear?

Personally I love shapewear for two reasons. Firstly, it's smooths the bumps, and gives a great silhouette. Secondly, it hides a multitude of body worries and gives me confidence in the outfit I'm wearing. Shapewear isn't for everyone and can make some people feel trussed up and uncomfortable, but the industry has come a long way in recent years so if you haven't tried it in a while, it's worth giving it another go!

Kim's Skims

Now, I am all for trying new things when it comes to fashion, and I decided to see what all the hype was about with Kim Kardashian's brand, Skims. I do love a bargain and I came across a bralette and a pair of the old 'harvest festivals' (large knickers that keen all of gods goodness in!) Skims come in a wide range of colours to suits all skin tones, but mine were in beige for the bra and mocha for the knickers. The colour didn't matter to me as I am the only one seeing them and they don't show through my outfits.

The verdict

Wow... these undies are soft, smooth and seriously comfortable. There has clearly been a lot of thought put in to this range. Firstly, there are no lumps or bumps anywhere, the silhouette is very smooth and the sizing is good. They were relatively easy to get on and off, considering there is always a bit of a battle with shapewear, if it's easy to get on then you've got the wrong size! There was no armpit overhang above the bralette and it was smooth and comfortable around the back as well as the boozies. I have yet to wear them out, but from prancing around the house in them, for now I'm sold!

My view on " seamless solutionwear" is this: put bluntly, it's your slimline scaffolding and if it's good quality, fits well and doesn't cut off the blood supply then you're winning.

Go Kim, loving it.. might have to watch the Kardashians now , but wait.. maybe I'll wait until I've mastered my vocal fry...;)
